The Two Worlds
£14.95
This scheme is inspired by Ivan Gantschev’s story Two Islands. Set in the future it tells the story of two different worlds created as new homes for the people of an over exploited Earth. The central theme of the story is sustainable development, but participants also explore issues of materialism, cultural identity, power and status. They learn how an imagined world can be used to explore important ideas and concepts. A wide range of process drama techniques including tableau, mime and improvised dialogue are introduced. The scheme would be a good focus for cross-curricular work as it covers aspects of citizenship, geography and science and provides a great stimulus for writing.
