Investigating practitioners’ work
£14.95
Learners need to sign the learner’s contract and be given a copy of the FAQ with answers. Once these have been read in class, store them centrally in the department.
In the specification the unit is described as follows: ‘Learners investigate the work of performing arts practitioners and develop critical analysis skills and contextual understanding of how practitioners communicate themes in their work.’
This unit is mandatory on all of the programmes for the NCF BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts qualification: Certificate, Extended Certificate, Foundation Diploma, Diploma and Extended Diploma.
The Guided Learning Hours are 90. When planning delivery of the unit the teacher needs to consider the 5 weeks of research once the external assessment has been started and the sixth week of supervised writing.
For the Level 3 Certificate and Extended Certificate qualifications, this unit could be run alongside Unit 2 Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance.
