This scheme of work aims to get students to think about how to create a character and to prepare a short monologue for Component 2 of the OCR expressive arts GCSE. In Component 2 students work in two art forms chosen from drama, music, art, dance and creative writing, and are allowed 20 hours to create their final work.

This scheme includes creative writing, which would be linked with a third art form. The drama and creative writing activities would take place over ten hours.

  • To gain knowledge of a contrasting work of art
  • To understand the skills required to create a character
  • To consider the use of the Areas of Study when creating a piece of work
  • To create a monologue and character for performance and assessment
