This is an eight-week scheme looking at preparing GCSE students for the study of a set text for Section A of the AQA syllabus.
The scheme will focus on Blue Remembered Hills by Dennis Potter and will approach preparation through three stages:
- Week 1: Improvisational work exploring style and character
- Weeks 2–6: Close practical study of text
- Weeks 7 and 8: written practice and examination technique
Blue Remembered Hills was originally written for television. It is a good choice of study for GCSE students, as it requires a clear and active understanding of design and a carefully considered interpretation of character through voice and movement.
