The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
£14.95
This scheme is based on Suzanne Collins’ hugely successful trilogy The Hunger Games. The scheme can be used as a stand-alone scheme for Year 9 or as an introductory scheme at GCSE. For GCSE you can use the activities as a springboard for students to create ideas on a range of interesting themes, e.g. dystopian future, conflict, the difference between rich and poor, friendship, family or injustice.
The scheme uses a range of different techniques largely based on devising, improvisation and detailed character work. You will need to be familiar with the novels and the characters. It is not necessary for students to have read them but they will need some detailed plot summary and background information in order to engage fully with the stimulus.
